Lexington Park district
JFL & CHEERLEADING

Lexington's football tradition will continue as the Park District will again present a Youth Football Program for any child entering K through 8th grade during the fall. Lexington is part of the Heart of Illinois Junior Football Conference. Lexington will be again co-oping with Ridgeview for the 2025 season. We are also pleased to offer cheerleading for any child entering K-8th grade during the fall.

This conference is comprised of multiple area teams. The Heart of Illinois Junior Football Conference is divided into four divisions. Flag (K-2nd grade), Bantams (3rd and 4th grade), Junior Varsity (5th and 6th grade) and Varsity (7th and 8th grade).

Football practices are determined by the coaches at each level.  Games are on Saturdays.  The focus of youth football is for every player to play during a game.  Coaches are instructed to teach the young football players how to throw a football, run with a football, block, tackle, and learn the rules of football in order to facilitate their progression towards high school football.

Registration for the 2025 season is now closed.

Teams consist of:
Cheerleading: K-8th Grades
Flag: K-2nd Grades
Bantams: 3rd/4th Grades
Junior Varsity:  5th/6th Grade
Varsity: 7th/8th Grades
